Pulling sensation/ cyst? where ectopic was

Hi, I had an ectopic in March on my left tube. It was managed with methotrexate and I am on pre-pregnancy levels for 6w again already.

Back during the last week of hcg levels above 5, I started to have some cycle symptoms again (tender breasts, discharge, though not period) and a bit of a pulling sensation where my ectopic was. I was scanned in hospital at the time and they found a small cyst where the ectopic used to be, but said there is nothing to worry about and it might be part of a normal cycle.

Last week I got my first period (super weak but it’s never been strong anyway) and at the same time, this pulling sensation started again. Same place. It’s not painful just a pulling now and then, and not permanent either. So I am reluctant to get this checked out. Is it normal to have this recurring in the same place as the ectopic? For background, even before I used to get cysts all the time. Are recurring cysts an indicator that something isn’t quite right? I dont remember having this on my right side. Thanks

Dear Cee14,
I am so sorry to hear of your ectopic pregnancy loss. It can be common to experience discomfort following ectopic pregnancy. It can be due to everything settling down or the cyst you have mentioned. We can also be more aware of any niggles and discomfort following the difficult time we have been through and some women experience ovulation pain when they haven’t before.
Symptoms like this trend to take around three months on average to settle, but you could keep a diary of when you experience It, especially in relation to periods and ovulation and discuss this with your medical team.
I am afraid I am unable to provide you with specific medical advice about your cysts so if you are concerned or need further questions answered, please do not hesitate to seek medical advice again.
Best wishes,
Karen x
