I haven’t been on this site for a long time. To make a long story short, I suffered an ectopic June 2002 on my left side. My tube was left in, as it was damaged a lot and the Dr. didn’t think anything would happen. Three months later I had another ectopic in the same tube. This time the Dr cut it out and tied it. I was very lucky to conceive again three months later and have a lovely dd…now 9 years old.
My dh and I have tried IVF Fresh and Frozen cycles. We are on our fifth try with a fresh cycle. I am 6 dp fresh ET. I am using progesterone and endometrin and taking estrace for hormonal support.
I have been having slight spotting whenever I use the endometrin and I’m pretty sure this is a side affect from the hormones. The thing that is worrying me is the stabbing pain I’m having on the same side as my previous ectopics. I usually have some pain during the 2ww, but this time it just seems more piecing and stabbing. I understand that there is stretching going on in the uterus and that scar tissue doesn’t stretch the same way.
Has anyone been through this and has it been a positive outcome?
Sorry you have had such a rough ride of it all and I have everything crossed that this cycle works out for you. I have just done a frozen cycle and am now 11 weeks and I also had stabbing pains following the transfer on both sides, but particularly now that I think about, where I had my tube removed for my first ectopic. It freaked me out at the time and am still getting the odd cramp and twinge but I think it is just the body reacting to what is happening. In this pregnancy it turned out that I had some bruising from the implantation so I wonder whether this might have caused the pain or could have been because of scar tissue. It is difficult to tell what causes it but as long as you don’t have any major bleeding alongside the pain then hopefully all will be ok.
Fingers crossed for you! How far into the 2WW are you?
Congrats! I hope all goes well for you. I am getting tested on Friday…I really hope it’s good news…two days from now!
Thank you for the information. I’m hoping it’s just scar tissue too. The pain has subsided and I only have a little bleeding after the morning edometrin suppository. It’s a long 2ww…but we’ll get through somehow, we always do!!!
Will have fingers and toes crossed for your test on Friday! Let me know how you get on. Have to say am impressed at your willpower, I always have broken and tested early - can’t stand the wait in the 2WW, it feels interminable…
We’re sooooo lucky! Got a BFP, the hcg level was 136. The clinic told me they are happy to see numbers over 100. We are delighted but cautious too. We have been here twice before. Both times it ended as chemical pregnancies.
Hopefully, this time it will stick for the next 9 months. I test again on Tuesday.
That’s fab news - whispered congrats to you!! That sounds like a very promising initial reading too - hope that the next one shows that you are doubling nicely!! Will keep fingers and toes crossed that little bean gets comfy
Thanks for thinking of me…you’re too kind. I went for some beta’s today Thurs - two days later. They are actually over 1200 now. We see this as good news but are still worried. I started having red blood spotting with tiny clots on Tues evening…it’s on the tp when I wipe. I hope it goes away…I have a little cramping too.
I have been put on progesterone in oil, my dh has to inject them. I have a painful backside. My progesterone was a low and my clinic thinks this is the best way to keep the numbers up.
I may have to go for another blood test next week. My scan is booked for Feb 14th…hopefully all goes well.
That’s great news that your HCG was nice and high but sorry you are getting a bit of spotting and some clots. I had both with this pregnancy and found it so stressful so can imagine some of what you are feeling. What i hadnt realised was how incredibly common it is in early pregnancy - was a real eye opener. But sounds like your clinic are giving you all you need and hopefully the extra progesterone sorts it out for you.
Hope that the days pass quickly for you and that you get to see little bean on the scan soon.
We went for our 7 week scan last Thursday…Valentine’s Day. We were so happy to see the heartbeat and the doctor told us that everything looked really good. I told him about the spotting I have after BM’s (sorry i know that’s tmi). He told me to ignore it because the baby was in the right place…he only saw one. He believes the spotting is coming from the cervix.
I am having pain sometimes on my left side where my previous ectopics were. I hope this is just the uterus growing. It’s 10 years since my 2 ep’s and this pain is just so annoying and terribly worrying.
What a wonderful Valentine’s present That is fab news that you got to see that the baby was doing well and with a good, strong heartbeat! I was wondering how you were getting on, that is just fab news.
Sorry to hear that you are still getting spotting, sounds like it is more of a nuisance than something to worry about, but still stressful to be having. Hope that it clears up soon - will you be on hormonal support until 10 or 12 weeks? I don’t know how it works as every clinic has different protocols. Hope that you are managing ok on them, I found that the progesterone made me horribly bloated and constipated  As for the pain near where your EPs were, I can appreciate that must be worrying, but try to hold on to the fact that everything looked great on the scan. Am sure it is probably everything stretching and if there is a bit of scar tissue that might add to the discomfort.
Fingers crossed that everything continues to go smoothly for you and that the wait until the next scan is quick. Will it be at 12 weeks?
