Hi, I am new to this forum. I came home from the hospital two days ago after surgery because of an ectopic pregnancy. I wanted to do a little research so I could understand a little more of what happened and found this site.
I kind of suspected I was pregnant a few days before my surgery. I had been in a car accident the week before so I was assuming my symptoms of being tired and lack of motivation to perform daily duties was because of the accident. In the back of my mind I did think that I should probably take a pregnancy test.
I woke up Tuesday morning with sever abdominal cramping and then dizziness and feeling faint. My husband brought me to the ER. The pregnancy test did come back positive from the urine sample so they started thinking it could be an ectopic pregnancy. After an ultra sound and finding that there was a lot of fluid by my tube they prepared me for surgery.
The doctor tried to do laparoscopy surgery but there ended up being too much blood so the doctor ended up doing a bikini incision. I had 1.6 liters of blood in my abdomen which they were able to clean and then give back to me. He removed part of the tube.
I was in the hospital for two nights and have been recovering well. I have not had any complications so far in healing.
This was my fourth pregnancy. We have 3 girls ages 3, 2 and 9 months.
