Another miscarriage, following my ectopic

Hello, I was wondering if anyone has experienced recurrent miscarriage following ectopic and tube removal?

I had an ectopic and the tube and pregnancy removed January 2024, a missed miscarriage April 2024 it grew to 6 weeks. I now have a missed miscarriage at 9 weeks even though it had a heartbeat at 6 weeks.

I had a son 5 years ago with no problems so I’m finding all this really difficult to get my head around all this.

Hi LTQKVS,

I’m so sorry to hear what you have been through. I have been through a similar situation with multiple miscarriages following my ectopic pregnancies.

It’s important for you to remember that there was nothing you did to cause nor nothing that could have prevented an ectopic pregnancy or miscarriage. Many women experience a mix of feelings and this can include grief, hurt at loss and anger. Trying not to blame yourself is important, as it is no fault of yours, and nothing sadly, could have been done from stopping the early pregnancy loss from happening.

Often the precise reason for an ectopic pregnancy may never be known. Sadly there is nothing that can be done to guarantee that it will never happen again and it isn’t because of something you did or didn’t do. Of course, it is normal to be scared after the ordeal which you’ve been through. But there is chance it can go right.

If the journey is not as smooth as we would like then medical help is available and the Trust can be there for emotional support, too. These are big decisions to be made and many of us feel frightened, but we can keep talking to let those emotions and thoughts out. By speaking to professionals, as well as with us here the Trust, you are not alone and we will all be by your side.

We here for as long as needed. There is never a time frame for us and we will help however we can. These boards are a safe space and we are here for you as long as you need.

With good wishes,

Michele

Thankyou. Did you have any further testing at all following multiple miscarriages? Did you go on to have a successful pregnancy?

I’m barely surving this third loss in a year, I think the trying will have to stop :cold_sweat:

Hi LTQKVS,

It’s so important to take this in your own time. I did go on to conceive, but there in between there were losses. It is very emotional, and it took me a long time to become comfortable with the idea of TTC.

Please know we are here for you, and that it’s most important to take things at a pace that supports your wellbeing.

With good wishes,

Michele
