I had my first ectopic last December which was treated with methotrexate, my levels went down after a week and I was discharged from the EPU. We started trying again around April, in June I found out I was pregnant again.
An early scan was arranged at 6 weeks to check everything was ok. I started bleeding the day before the scan which got heavier the day of the scan. Scan confirmed no baby in my uterus but they could see something on my right near the ovary.
After a series of blood tests over the next week a 2nd ectopic pregnancy was confirmed on the same side as last time. The advice was to remove the tube, I had my surgery on Monday. The doctors said that based on looking at my other tube they couldn’t rule out another ectopic even with the right one being removed.
I am taking it day by day but still don’t know how to feel about it all, it just seems like something you see in a film or documentary. It’s hard to believe it happened at all.
I currently have a 21 month old who I still BF at night and obviously am struggling with the pain due to surgery. How long after surgery does the pain and tenderness go away?
